The island of Serifos has a strong contrast. It is the perfect choice for those who are looking for relaxing holidays in a authentic Cycladic environment, while not missing out of the intense nightlife. Visitors will enjoy the crystal clear sea, the sandy beaches and the genuine Cycladic landscape with the white villages. Serifos is also known for its mineral wealth, which consists of iron and magnetite. Capital of the island is SERIFOS (or Chora), built amphitheatrically on a rocky hill above Livadi, the port. The country is divided into two neighborhoods: (Pano)Uppper and Kato (Lower) Chora. At the top of the hill there are the ruins of the Venetian castle which used to protect the village and the remains of the ancient citadel.
Although it is relatively close to Piraeus port, Serifos maintains its natural enviroment, combining beautiful beaches, picturesque sceneries and in small doses it is qute cosmopolitan. Its assets are the 72 beaches and its beautiful town (Chora). Eiher bt car or motorcycle, you can discover the most beautiful beaches: Psili Ammos, Agios Sostis, Koutala, Kalo Ampeli, Ganema, Vagia, Ag. Gianni, Platy Gialos. Once the sun sets, you can enjoy your coffee or your drink at the City Hall square in Chora or higher in the relics of the Venetian castle on top of the hill, and then go to Livadi, where the nightlife begins.
